Construction will soon begin on Benalla’s splash park, which will be on the Lake Benalla foreshore near the Benalla Aquatic Centre.
The location has been officially finalised after a review all possibilities, heritage and planning requirements.
Benalla Mayor Danny Claridge said a splash park for Benalla would be a great community asset.

“The splash park will provide relief from our hot weather for both residents and visitors,” Cr Claridge said.
“We are very much looking forward to providing this free community facility, which will be a real asset to our town.”
State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said the addition of a splash park would bring many benefits.

“This splash park will turn an under-utilised, but wonderful location into a family and economic attraction for Benalla,” Ms Symes said.
Benalla Rural City Council assessed five potential splash park locations, including the southern end of the Botanical Gardens near the rocket park
The splash park will include a significant amount of water-play equipment, a new plantroom, pipework and services connection, shade structures and landscaping.

The Splash Park project is being funded by the Victorian Government.
